Color Rules (Color Translation Table)

The Color Rules Table
Note N.B: VERSION NOTE (Opera Job Management): To access this panel: from the Archives menu, select the Color Rules button.

In this table, the operator can define automations for color selection, conditional associations, and additional finishes to be applied to profiles and accessories within the types in the job.

Features and Logic of the Archive

The system allows you to manage four different types of rules, each with a specific behavior in the job interface and in the bill of materials:

  • Color matching: Allows you to create an archive of dedicated colors by system and match them to the profile or accessory for which it was created. The specific color is automatically proposed in the general info - type in the job when that item is used within the type.
  • Custom color: Allows you to associate a standard color with a profile or accessory conditionally. In this case, the color is NOT shown in the general info - type panel, but is applied directly at bill of materials level.
  • Inventory color replacement: Has a purpose similar to color association, but the rule is applied and activated directly at logistics and movement level. The configuration is recalled on the profile extra data page within the Profiles archive.
  • Profiles extra color: Allows you to apply up to 2 additional colors to a profile in addition to the standard ones, Internal Color and External Color. In this way, the extra finishes are shown in the general info - type panel. To apply these colors, it is necessary to configure the profiles section in the Series archive.

Section 1: Function Buttons (Tools)

The buttons in the toolbar allow you to manage the records in the archive:

  • File:tastopiu.png File:tastomeno.png File:tastodiverso.png File:tastouguale.png Control buttons: Operating buttons for inserting, deleting, editing, and copying an element in the table.
  • File:tastoexcel.png Excel export: Allows you to export the complete list of the elements in the archive directly to an Excel spreadsheet.

Section 2: Rule Master Data

Main fields for identifying and classifying the rule in the database.

  • Name: Identifying name assigned to the color or rule.
  • Type: Selection menu used to define the behavior of the record among: Color association, Specific color, Warehouse color replacement, or Profiles extra color.
  • System: The system or window/door series specifically associated with the color.
  • Description: Free text note used to describe the purpose of the color.

Section 3: Additional Data and Output

Parameters for managing the interface positioning and configuring print reports.

  • Displayed name: The formal description of the color that will be used in printouts.
  • Symbol: The graphic symbol to be shown in the job screen (Option available only for the Profiles extra color type).
  • Position: Numeric index used to order the display of the color within the general info - type screen.
  • Show on window chart / Show in diagrams: Checkboxes. If enabled, the data relating to the color will be included in the window chart reports and/or in the graphic diagram drawings of the type.

Section 4: Application Rules

  • Default color: The color code that the software automatically sets as the default choice.
  • Function / Key: Parametric linking fields to be applied and configured specifically when managing the Profiles extra color type.

Section 5: Action Buttons

  • File:Tastocolori2.png Insertion panel: Action button that opens the detail sub-window for the precise insertion of the conversion and color matching tables for the selected profile or accessory.

Guide to Using Color Rules

Color association

Example of grid for Color Translation

Color association allows you to automatically apply a color based on the configuration of another element inserted in the type.

  • Practical case: If a water drainage cap is available only in White or Black, it is possible to create associations that, based on the external color selected for the type, automatically assign the correct cap color to the profile or accessory.

By configuring the section with the Finish, Original, and Key parameters, the software detects the color set in the general info - type screen and will automatically associate the corresponding New color.

Practical conversion example:
  • Type color (Original): VIV-NOCE
  • Profile/Accessory color (New): RAL8001

Specific color

Allows you to manually choose a dedicated color during the finish application phase in the job. In this way, for a specific item, the operator's choice is limited and constrained to a predefined list of suitable colors.

Warehouse color replacement

Works with the same calculation logic as color association, but with one fundamental difference: the replacement takes place directly at warehouse management level. This makes it possible to move, unload, and order the same item always with the correct color code already assigned at management level.

Profiles extra color

It is used for complex profiles that do not only require the standard selection of the internal or external color, but also require the management of additional structural elements.

  • Practical case: In PVC or coupled profiles, it allows you to define and show in the general info - type also the choice of the color of the extruded base body or the specific color of the central/co-extruded gasket.
