Purpose of margin rates
The purpose of Margin rates is to associate a different margin percentage with the following costs:
- material - from the systems archive, from the profiles archive, and from the accessories archive, when prices are entered in the window opened by the
button.
- machinings.
- labour - from Company data.
- % waste, % overhead, % packing, % shipping - from Company data.
Creating the Margin rates table
- From the Jobs menu, select Margin rate sets.
- Press
to create a new entry.
- Define the name and description of the margin rate, for example Profiles and Standard profiles.
- Enter the percentage value of the margin rate.
- If necessary, assign a color to the margin rate and save.
- Repeat this procedure for each margin rate that you intend to create.
Creating a margin rate set
Margin rates can be grouped into Sets, which allow you to create customized margin profiles according to your needs. For example, the margins applied to a customer who owns a company may be different from those applied to a private customer.
Once the standard margin rates have been created, the various sets can then be created in the margin rate sets archive. The procedure is as follows:
- Go to the margin rate sets archive, press the insert button
, and enter the name and, if desired, the description of the Set, for example Company, Private, Price list, etc.
- After saving, return to the Margin rate sets table window and press the
button. The Margin rate percentages window will open.
- By pressing the insert button
again, the standard margin rates can be recalled through the drop-down menu
, and a different percentage can be associated with that rate.
- Save and repeat the operation for all the margin rates that you want to modify compared with the standard values set in the margin rates archive.
Assigning margin rates
Below are the windows where margin rates can be entered:
- Company (Company data): in this window, all the company margin rates can be entered in the dedicated Margin rate fields, and new ones can be created by following the procedure described above.
- System (Systems) and Series (Series): in this window, all the margin rates that have been created can be entered for the selected System and Series in the dedicated Profiles margin rate and Hardware margin rate fields.
- Color (Color prices): in this window, the margin rate relating to the selected color can be entered in the dedicated Margin rate field.

- Jobs archive: in this window, the margin rate sets that have been created can be entered in the dedicated Margin rate set field.
- Price list typologies: in this window, the margin rate sets that have been created can be entered in the dedicated Margin rate set field.
- Price list revisions: margin rate sets that have been created can also be entered in Price list revisions, in the dedicated Margin rate set field, found in the Price list variants management window.
In the job
In the job materials management window, the margin rates assigned to each individual material can be checked by enabling the
button.
If margin rates have been entered in the company data, they will be automatically associated with all jobs.
However, for the single job, it will be possible to modify the applied margins from the calculations window.
Pressing the
button opens the related window, where the % Margin item is displayed. The associated
button opens a summary window where it will be possible to exclude the automatically loaded margin rates or specify a different percentage.
