- TOC**
The function of this window is to allow a type of customization of the optimization.
Contents |
Section 1 - settings for increasing bars
- Bar increase: if selected, allows you to automatically increase the number of bars to be ordered in order to obtain additional material.
- By enabling this option, the Increase field is also enabled, where it is possible to enter a custom percentage.
- This function is generally used to allow for offcuts, processing waste, or reserve material.
- Increase: field for entering the additional bar increase percentage.
- The value must be entered without the % symbol.
- The percentage entered in this field is applied to the bar requirement calculated by the program.
- Example:
- bars calculated by the program: 50
- value entered in the Increase field: 10
- total bars ordered: 55
Section 2 - parameters for cutting the profile and offcuts
- Always at 90°: If selected, it indicates to the program that the profile must always be cut at 90°.
- Cutting step: in this field it is possible to set a measurement in mm to indicate the steps for the cutting dimension.
- Reversible: Indicates to the program whether the profile is reversible or not. The reversibility property of a profile, valid for Z profiles, applies when it can be used in the same way even when turned upside down. This property will be used by the program in the optimized cutting calculation, avoiding the production of useless offcuts.
- Symmetrical: Symmetrical profile, with respect to the internal and external surface.
- Min. waste: this is the minimum waste length in profile optimization.
- Min. offcut waste: this is the minimum waste length in offcut optimization.
- Min. offcut: This is the value of the minimum reusable offcut. The Auto specification indicates that the profile will use the value set in the cutting parameters; see also the Cutting parameters chapter, in the Opera Job Management Manual - Section 7: the Workshop menu.
- Cut ord.: this is the cutting order position.
- No ID code:: does not generate an identification code for this profile in the technical printouts.
- Force bars together: Enabling this checkbox forces the program to optimize by always cutting the bars grouped together, even when using a single bar would be sufficient. The optimization will therefore be printed as shown in the following images, depending on the setting.
- No. grouped pieces: Setting these boxes, active if the previous option is selected, makes it possible to optimize the cutting of multiple bars together in the same list. If there are bars that must be cut to identical measurements, it is sufficient to specify the quantity in this box. This function is very useful for profiles that are traditionally cut grouped together, such as shutter slats or glazing beads.
- Use offcuts: this field allows offcut management for this profile, when managing Profile cutting optimization from the Opera Warehouse. It is enabled if the Selected only field is selected in the Warehouse print setup.
- Reusable offcut: For those who use Warehouse Management, this function allows you to determine the minimum size of reusable offcut, which differs from the standard size set in the Cutting parameters.
- Do not distribute long pieces: Enabling this field tells the program not to distribute long pieces across different bars in the optimization.
- Warning on long pieces: Enabling this field will provide an error message in the printouts in the case of long pieces.
- Single package label: This field tells the program to generate a single label for the grouped cut pieces, useful in the case of shutter slats, glazing beads, etc.
Section 3 - parameters for the optimization type
- Optimization type
: This field opens a drop-down menu where it is possible to set the optimization type to apply to the profile.
- None
- By setting this option, optimization will never be performed.
- Normal
- By setting this option, optimization will be performed by carrying out the necessary steps to obtain the best cutting system. Recommended setting.
- Fast
- By setting this option, optimization will be performed as quickly as possible to obtain the best cutting system. However, this setting may not provide satisfactory results.
- Optimize bar
- Allows the bars to be optimized without considering the standard profile length, but based on the lengths set individually for the profiles in the archive. Review the Optimization parameters section in Section 1, Profiles archive chapter, the
button.
- Length
- If it is not essential to maximize bar usage and you prefer to prioritize cutting speed, this option allows the cuts to be performed by ordering the pieces by length, from longest to shortest. In any case, the remaining part of the bar will be completed with a cut compatible with the length still available.
- Single length
- In this case too, optimization is performed by length, ordering the pieces from longest to shortest. However, the remaining part of the bar is not “filled”: it remains empty, so as to ensure a continuous cutting sequence, without inserting intermediate pieces.
- List
- Optimization is generated by calculating the values of the list loaded in the Profiles archive, again through the Optimization parameters function
.
- Job position
- Optimization is generated by taking into account the position within the job. In any case, the remaining part of the bar will be completed with a cut compatible with the length still available.
- Single job position
- Optimization is generated by taking into account the position within the job. However, the remaining part of the bar is not “filled”: it remains empty, so as to ensure a continuous cutting sequence by position.
Section 4 - parameters for bar lengths
- Bar length selection
: In this field it is possible to choose the optimization type from the following:
- Range
- By choosing this optimization type, the Min. bar length, Max. bar length, Step fields are enabled, where it is possible to determine a minimum and maximum profile measurement made available by the supplier, and a measurement change step in optimization. With this setting, the program detects the best bar size to use.
- List
- This optimization type enables the Bar length fields and allows you to create a list of maximum bar length measurements made available by the supplier. These measurements are analyzed by the program, which detects the best bar size to order during optimization.
- Cut to size
- This optimization type allows you to optimize and therefore order the material based on the actual usage measurement.
- Cut
- This optimization type allows you to create cut-to-size optimization according to the actual cutting measurement, without any type of waste.
(see also how to set the cutting parameters)
Section 5 - message management
- Message: in this field it is possible to enter a message relating to the optimized profile, which will be displayed in the Complete diagrams and in the Diagrams and profiles.
- Profile prefix: this field allows you to customize the codes that appear in the cutting lists, for profile recognition.
Section 6 - panel management
- Source panel
: by selecting the associated button, the Accessory selection window opens, where it is possible to choose the panel from which to obtain the profile.
- Cut panels into parts: if a source panel has been selected, this field is enabled and, if selected, allows cuts to be generated for panels in parts.
