__TOC__

The profile archive is a fundamental database where profiles are stored with their technical data (height, chamber thickness, etc.). These data are used by the program for generating and developing cutting lists, optimizing cuts, calculating prices, and required quantities.
-
This archive is used to store all the profile information, along with their technical data (height, encumbrance, thickness). These data are used by the program in order to output the cutting list, the cutting optimization, to calculate prices, and the required quantity.

*'''Master name''':The profile code to be referred to.

{{NOTE|A typical example for which it is necessary to use the Master name is when a marine glazing sash sill profile can also be used as transom. In this case, their dimensions (encumbrance) will change when their use is modified.  If we look at the following pictures we can see that the profile in Picture 1, called 9963 in this example and usually used as a sash sill, has a smaller encumbrance if used as transom, Picture 2.}}
+
* '''Master name''': Reference profile code. For example, a glass-wire profile also usable as a transom. Dimensions vary by use.
-
This is necessary for loading a new profile that we will call k390-T. This will be an exact copy of the other one, except for changes to the type of use and chamber values . It would be useful to enter k290M as (Master Name) so that 9963 is used for the order to the supplier, in cutting lists, in optimisation lists, etc., rather than the 9963-T, which is only a fictitious profile.
+
{{NB|As shown, profile in ''Figure 1'' (code 9963, used as base) has smaller dimensions when used as transom (Figure 2). {{NOTE|An ''Assembled profile'' is made up of different bars, often from different materials, combined together to create the assembled functional profile (or assembled profile).  For example, aluminium-wood profiles are usually made up assembling different bars: an aluminium bar, a plastic bar and a wood bar; also bicolour profiles are made with two aluminium bars with different colours. Opera allows the calculation of the assembled profile cost in addition to the calculation of the cost of each single component, even if they have different measurement units amongst them.  In case of bicolour profiles, it calculates the cost of the internal and external colours.  The programme can output in the materials list the assembled profile code or the codes of every single profile.}}

Note N.B: To access this box in Opera Order Management: from the Files menu, select the Profiles button.

The profile archive is a fundamental database where profiles are stored with their technical data (height, chamber thickness, etc.). These data are used by the program for generating and developing cutting lists, optimizing cuts, calculating prices, and required quantities.

Below is a description of the frame content.

Contents

Section 0: Filter fields

  • System/Series File:tastomenutendina.png: allows selecting the system and/or series to display.
  • Usage File:tastomenutendina.png: allows displaying the usage choice combined with the profiles.
  • Key File:tastomenutendina.png: allows entering search keys to facilitate profile display.
  • Type M/T File:tastomenutendina.png: allows all profiles to be displayed with a mullion, transom, or both (active when using mullion/transom).
  • Application type File:tastomenutendina.png: shows all profiles using mullions/transoms according to the application type: frame, sash, or both (active when mullions/transoms are used).

Section 1: Function keys

Section 2: Basic profile data

  • Name: The profile code given by the manufacturer or supplier.
  • System File:frecciagiu.png: Returns the system name to which the profile belongs.
  • Series File:frecciagiu.png: Indicates the series name to which the profile belongs. If the purchase price is linked to the series, this is fundamental for cost calculation. Without a series name, cost can't be determined.
  • Desc.: Text describing profile characteristics.
Code 9963
Figure 1.
When used as a base, the footprint (chamber) includes the lower flaps.
Code 9963-T
Figure 2.
If used as a transom, the footprint excludes lower flaps and is smaller.
  • Master name: Reference profile code. For example, a glass-wire profile also usable as a transom. Dimensions vary by use.
Note N.B: As shown, profile in Figure 1 (code 9963, used as base) has smaller dimensions when used as transom (Figure 2). Therefore, a new profile 9963-T must be loaded, identical except for usage File:Utilizzo.png and chamber value File:Camera.png. It's advised to enter 9963 as parent name File:Nomepadre.png so that 9963 is considered in supplier orders, cutting lists, optimization, etc., not 9963-T, which is fictitious.
  • Old code: Stores old item code if changed.
  • Note: Space for general internal notes.
  • Typo desc.: Field to extend type description via the profile. If filled, activates the Position field.
  • Key: Allows specifying a custom key for quick search. Activates filter with dropdown menu.

Section 3: Purchase-related data

  • Supplier: Profile supplier name.
  • Weight: Weight per meter of profile.
  • Bar length: Total bar length.

Section 4: Composite field

The Composite field indicates a composite profile.

Note NOTE:
A Composite Profile is made of multiple bars, often of different materials, assembled to form the functional composite profile. E.g., aluminum-wood or bicolor profiles. Opera calculates the cost of the composite profile and its components, even with different units, and for bicolor profiles, the cost of interior and exterior coloring. It can also provide codes of composite profile or components in the materials list.

Selecting the Composite box activates four additional boxes explained below and the File:tastocomponenti.png button.

  • Components list: Shows component part numbers in materials lists.
  • Components cut: Shows cut values for each component in cutting lists.
  • Screw: Code of screw used for machining the profile, e.g., reinforcement screws (PVC profiles).
  • Distance between screws: Average distance between screws, for automatic number calculation.
  • Max and Min: Defines if the entered measure is maximum or minimum.
  • Distance: Distance between first and last screw, excluding internal spacing.
  • The File:tastocomponenti.png button opens the component add/modify panel (visible if Composite is checked).

Section 4: Nomenclature and warehouse data

  • Exclude from lists: Excludes profile from any printout (cutting list, optimization, order, etc.). Used for fictitious profiles creating load in the type.
  • Exclude inventory: Excludes the item from stock management.
  • Delivering list: Indicates the item is part of a delivery list printable from options.
  • Exclude from nodes: The item does not appear in node section generation.
  • Parts list position: Item position in the hardware frame.
  • Publish on web: Allows sending the profile to the web portal if Web Lists step is enabled.

Section 5: Technical data

  • Line File:tastomenutendina.png: Profile line type in typology diagram.
  • Line color File:tastomenutendina.png: Line color in the diagram.
  • Line thickness: Line thickness in the diagram.
  • Height: Profile height on cut plane, perpendicular to depth.
Note N.B: For sliding sash, height must match chamber value.
Usage
Indicates profile function. According to this, fields appear for entering technical values, used in cut calculations. See Annex I: Technical data of profiles by usage.
Glazing system
Shows glass mounting system. Choices in dropdown:
 * None: Used when a frame is not ready for fillings, to use parent frame filling data.
 * with glazing bead: Profile needing a glazing bead to secure filling.
 * push-in: System allowing glass insertion after frame placement, with mechanical joint.
 * slip-in: Profile with flaps to lock glass without need for stop.
 * Curtain wall: For profiles used in curtain walls.
