Inserting a typology
- To insert a new price list typology, press the
button.
- By pressing the
button, it will be possible to choose whether to create a new typology or import an existing one from the Typologies Archive and insert it into the Price list archive.
The design of a new typology to be inserted in the price list is carried out in the same way as a normal typology; therefore, refer to the Typologies Archive chapter.
When a typology is imported into the price list, all its parameters are inherited, such as Name, System, Series, Dimensional limits, Accessories, and Structure information.
The Typologies Archive and the Price list typologies archive are independent from each other. Once a typology has been imported into the price list, it can be modified as required without losing the original data in the Typologies Archive.
Typology parameters
After inserting the typology into the price list, its parameters must be set.
The generic data that can be modified are Name, System, Series, Category, and Description. As for the Revision source group field, which is fundamental for quickly generating the price list, its use will be explained in the chapter dedicated to creating a Price list revision.
Next, it is necessary to specify whether the newly inserted product has a grid price or not: in the latter case, the Do not calculate price grid item must be enabled.
Product with grid
If the typology has a grid, the limits must be provided to the program by filling in the Width from, Width to, Height from, and Height to fields. The Step must be specified for both width and height.
The Minimum width, Maximum width, Minimum height, and Maximum height fields represent the dimensional limits of the typology. These values are set to “auto” by default, but they can be changed as required. Using these fields allows oversize management for the typology.
Below is a practical example of how to use the parameters just described.
Suppose there is a typology with a grid ranging from 600 mm to 1000 mm for the width and from 600 mm to 1700 mm for the height, with a 100 mm step. If oversize dimensions also need to be managed for widths from 400 mm to 1400 mm and heights from 500 mm up to 2000 mm, the fields must be set as shown in the following figure.
The Calculate glass surface area and Calculate thermal transmittance fields enable the related calculations during price list price generation for the typology. In this way, additional information will be available during the quotation phase, allowing both thermal values and pane dimensions to be printed.
Product without grid
For a price list product that does not have a grid, the price can be specified in different ways, which will be explained later when the Price window is examined.
This category includes, for example, typologies such as insect screens with a price per m², security doors with a price per piece, Job Materials such as trims, or price list options such as installation, shipping, and disposal.
The operation of Send to webservice will be discussed later in the chapter related to online price list publication.
