The Object versions function allows you to associate a version with the objects managed by the program and display a message when the object does not have a version or when the assigned version is earlier than a set threshold version.
The function can be used, for example, to check versions linked to typologies or structures.
Contents |
Access to the window
To access the window:
- open the Archives menu;
- select the Object versions item.
The Object versions management window opens.
Creating an object version
To insert a new object version:
- press the
button;
- fill in the main data of the version;
- set the current version;
- indicate any threshold versions and the related messages;
- save the data with the Save button.
Main data
The upper section is used to set the data that identifies the object version.
- Name: indicates the name of the object version.
- System
: allows you to indicate the system to which the version refers.
- Series
: allows you to indicate the linked series.
- Type
: allows you to indicate the type of object to be checked.
The types used in management may include, for example:
- Typology: to check the versions of typologies.
- Structure: to check the versions of structures.
- Profiles: to check the versions of profiles.
- Accessories: to check the versions of accessories.
- Colors: to check the versions of colors.
- Desc.: allows you to enter a description of the object version.
- Notes: allows you to enter any notes.
- Keyword: allows you to indicate a search or identification keyword.
Current version
The Current version field indicates the version currently valid for the object.
This version is used as a reference to compare the versions assigned to the objects.
- Current version: indicates the current version of the object.
- Date: indicates the date linked to the current version.
- Hour: indicates the hour linked to the current version.
- No version message: if enabled, the program displays a message when the object does not have any assigned version.
Threshold versions
Threshold versions allow you to establish from which version a message must be displayed.
For each threshold, it is possible to indicate:
- Threshold version: reference version to be checked.
- Type
: type of warning to be displayed.
- Message
: text of the message to be shown.
The message is displayed for the version indicated in the Threshold version field and for all previous versions.
Message type
In the Type field it is possible to indicate the type of warning associated with the threshold version.
The following types are used in the video:
- Warning: displays a warning message.
- Error: displays an error message.
The displayed text is defined in the Message field.
Example:
- Threshold version: 3
- Type: Warning
- Message: Check LDT
In this case, for version 3 and for previous versions, the set warning message is displayed.
Linking the version to the object
After creating the version in the Object versions management window, it must be linked to the related objects.
To link the version to a typology:
- open the typologies archive;
- select the required typology;
- open the Object versions management window, using the
button, which is enabled only if the Objects versions archive has been filled in;
- press the
button;
- select the version to be associated.
Check in the job
When a typology or structure is used in a job, the program checks the version associated with the object.
The message is displayed in the following cases:
- the object does not have an assigned version and the No version message field is enabled in the Object versions management window;
- the object has a version equal to or earlier than the set Threshold version;
- a Warning or Error type message is associated with the threshold.
In this way, the user can immediately check whether the object being used is updated or whether it requires a check.
