Series - Profiles
This documentation page describes the functions, fields, and configurable parameters within the Series profiles window. This window allows you to define geometric properties, extra colors, offcut management, and linked series.
Color management
In this initial section, the additional parameters of the series and the related association logic are configured.
- Extra color profiles #3: Defines the additional color associated with the series to determine a possible extra color (Example:
Profile body color for PVC profiles). - Extra color profiles #4: Defines the additional color associated with the series to determine a possible extra color (Example:
Co-extruded gasket color for PVC profiles). - Gasket color: checkbox. If enabled, activates gasket color management.
Geometric parameters and design dimensions
This is the central and fundamental section for entering the standard data of the series, such as frame, sash, and glass values.
- Bar length: indicates the standard length of the commercial profile bar, expressed in millimeters.
- Overlap depth: indicates the depth of the overlap.
- Glass overlap: specific dimension referring to the height of the profile overlap in relation to the glass seat.
- Frame/sash gap: indicates the nominal air gap provided between the fixed frame profile and the sash profile.
- Glass clearance: the space for positioning the glass inside the profile seat.
- End mill correction: indicates the correction value used for end milling calculations.
- Shutter compensation: field for entering the correction factor for calculating shutter compensation.
Optimization and offcuts
Parameters used by the bar optimization algorithm when generating jobs and cutting lists for CNC machines.
- Min. offcut: the minimum length below which the remaining part of the cut bar is considered non-reusable waste. If set to
auto, the software calculates the value according to the general system settings. - Min. offcut for offcuts: specifies the minimum offcut management applied specifically to the reuse of offcuts, that is, leftovers from previous cuts. This can also be configured in automatic mode (
auto). - Curtain wall: checkbox to be enabled when the profile belongs to a curtain wall system. Enabling it activates the curtain wall functions for the series.
Associations and series variables
The lower drop-down menus allow hierarchical relationships to be created between this profile and other kits or series of accessories/construction variables.
- Curtain-wall kit series: selection menu used to associate the profile with a specific kit of accessories or components for curtain walls.
- Series variable: four available drop-down fields used to link the profile to different series or variable tables.
