The DXF entities management window

  • File:tastoentitiesdxf.png this button opens the Edit dxf entities window. The function of this window is to allow the management of the lines and polylines that make up the dxf or dwg cross-section. Cross-sections are often generated with lines that form a single figure, but within it are independent entities from one another. This feature can be problematic when the cross-section is sent to the software of certain work centers, which recognize only cross-sections made of single lines. Below is a detailed explanation of the functions of the components in this window:
  • File:+.png inserts an entity into the cross-section
  • File:-.png deletes an entity from the cross-section
  • File:modifica.png: allows the modification of an entity in the cross-section
  • File:=.png: allows the copying of an entity in the cross-section
  • File:Tastocollegamentodisegno.png: pressing this button opens the connection to the drawing program by transferring the cross-section to it. For this function to work correctly, the opening string of the drawing program must be set in Directories.
  • File:Tastoforbici.png: enables cutting parts of the cross-section. It is necessary to select the part to cut by clicking and drawing a line along the part to be cut.
  • File:Tastoaggiungilinea.png: allows you to add a polyline to the cross-section. It is necessary to select the part to add by clicking and drawing a line along the part to be drawn.
  • File:Show3d.png: allows you to display or manage the 3D representation, when available.
  • File:No3d.png: excludes or disables 3D management of the entity.

Special functions

Entity name
In this section it is possible to manually insert entities. As shown in the figure, there is an entity called name; the position of this entity in the drawing will be the position of the object name during node creation. Nodes display

Custom entity
It is possible to use the entity function for the automatic creation of nodes. In fact, it is possible to insert additional reference points with custom names.

Example: by adding an entity called Gasket and doing the same on the accessory object with the entity Gasket, it will be possible to make the program automatically understand that the two points with the same name must coincide during node creation. It will therefore be the program’s task to make the positions of the two objects match.
